THE WEEK’S HORROR HEADLINES (5th–12th January 2015)

Not got time to trawl the web for all the top horror news of the last week? Well allow me to give you a bite-size breakdown of the all biggest nightmarish news!

1: FIRST TRAILER FOR JAMES WAN’S DEMONIC HITS

Modern day horror master James Wan-produced upcoming chiller Demonic gets a cool new trailer.
I’m a fan of Wan (bit of poetry for you there) and while this isn’t directed by him, it doesn’t disappoint. The film is due to hit cinemas in April.

2: MICHAEL KEATON SET FOR KONG: SKULL ISLAND

Legendary Pictures’ upcoming King Kong film has added even more heavy-weight acting talent with the recent news that former Batman Michael Keaton is in negotiations to join J,K. Simmons and The Avengers’ Tom Hiddlestone on the cast. This movie is getting better by the day!

3: NEW STILL FROM INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 3

I’m a fan of the Insidious films and this still gives me exactly what I want — the always awesome Lin Shaye and a suitably horrible undead/demon/spirit/thing.
Get in!

4: THE PURGE 3 GETS A RELEASE DATE

Universal Studios has announced that the third film in the Purge Franchise will be released on 1st July 2016. There’s still plenty of scope for great stories in the Purge universe and if there is the same improvement in quality between this and The Purge 2 as there was between the first two films, we could be in for a real winner!

5: NEW ZEALANDER FINDS VALUABLE CACHE OF CLASSIC HORROR POSTERS WITHIN HIS WALLS!

A man in New Zealand bought a house for a mere $100,000 only to find valuable and extremely rare original Universal one-sheets, including one for the Bride of Frankenstein worth FIVE times that amount in a wall cavity.
What a find!

6: NEW THIS WEEK

This week sees the dvd and blu-ray release of the much-anticipated Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead.  This is one film I can’t wait to see, and neither, dear readers, should you! Get over to Amazon to grab it.
